At the current usage rate, the supply of fossil fuels - the world’s primary energy source will soon run out. The over use of fossil fuels over the last century has taken its toll on the environment and caused it irreversible damage.
As these fuels diminish the price of our energy bills goes up and because the world's population is still growing, so does our thirst for energy.
The Kyoto agreement has set targets for the UK, the first of which is to reduce the countries CO2 emissions by 12.5% by 2012 - lower than 1990 levels!
We are still way behind other European countries and these figures cannot be achieved unless everyone does their bit.
The change to renewable energy must happen fast. As solar panel technology increases in efficiency and affordability, harnessing the Sun's energy is now a viable option for the domestic householder to help them save on fuel bills and play their part in reducing CO2 emissions.

It is a widely held assumption that the UK does not have enough sun to make solar systems worthwhile. Solar panels, however, rely on radiation not sunshine itself. This means that even on a cloudy day solar panels are still helping to heat your hot water.

The solar systems we fit by Ferroli and Vaillant require a new twin coil hot water cylinder and the panels are located on the roof. Buying a new boiler is not always necessary, which would keep the initial outlay to a minimum but you would still gain all the advantages of the sun to heat your hot water.
Typically, a solar installation can reduce the amount of conventional gas, oil or electricity used by 50%. This translates to a significant saving and reduction in emissions.
