Does your hot water run cold?

When we attend combination boiler faults, one of our most common complaints is the hot tap running hot and cold.

The most common cause for this is scale or debris from the radiators blocking the plate heat exchanger. We can usually resolve this by removing the plate heat exchanger (demonstrated in the photograph above) and flushing through with heavy duty chemicals. In most cases this resolves the issue temporarily. However, this problem can mean that you have a dirty heating system. To prevent this reoccurring we would also recommend a Magni clean filter.
